I have previously tutored 11+ on an informal basis.
I have also tutored Biology, Chemistry and Physics on an informal basis through Skype, and helped the tutee achieve 2A*s and an A.
Through a Chemistry mentoring scheme at secondary school, I tutored GCSE Chemistry on a weekly basis. I helped the tutee progress from a predicted grade of B/C to eventually achieve an A.
Outside of the curriculum, in Year 13 I was Head of Section of the RAF contingent at my school’s Combined Cadet Force, where I was involved in the organisation and teaching of around 50 cadets, personally teaching large groups of around 15.

My Approach To Private Tuition
It's all down to you! I am very flexible and keen to try out different ways of learning so we can find what suits you best. Whether it's more active learning with questions and drawing diagrams, or more auditory with mnemonics and memory tricks, I will adapt to suit the best way you learn.
I often find tutees can understand concepts well, but when it comes down to answering exam questions, may not get the marks, so I am keen work on developing good exam technique, and share key phrases and strategies that will pick up marks in the exam. Having only recently taken these exams, I have amassed a bank of tips and tricks which I am keen to share!
I like to follow progress and highlight problem areas, so tend to use mini-tests or quizzes in the session, which also helps develop exam technique.
I am a keen musician, and play clarinet and piano. Through music, I have been fortunate enough to have some wonderful experiences: busking in the streets for charity, singing in Notre Dame and even performing in the Edinburgh Fringe!
